Our quarter final brought us to the Ragg to take on the mighty Drom on Sunday October 21st in their home ground.  We were on the back foot early on when they scored a goal but Eve Ryan soon scored a point to get us off the mark. As we faced into the breeze for the first half our girls did well and the half-time score was 1-3 to 0-1. Having regrouped for the second half we got off to an ideal start when midfielder Aine Fitzgerald hit the back of the Drom net to leave us two points adrift. Our dynamic duo of Emma and Michelle Cronin in the full back line ably assisted by a determined Ellen Buckley played a stormer and cleared their lines consistently. Midfielders Ava Collins, Anna Carey and Aine Fitzgerald covered great ground in this twelve aside competition on a full pitch. Kaitlyn O Regan launched many an attack with well-placed balls from her puckouts and a calm head on the goal line. Drom who are seasoned campaigners in the A competition did not lose their composure and regrouped to stretch their lead as the second half progressed.  Three goals in quick succession from Drom did not deter our brave girls and our forwards Triona Ryan, Makayala O Donnell and  Emer Ryan worked to get some scores and were rewarded when Makayala took two well taken points. While a huge effort was witnessed by all who attended the game, the result didn't go our way and did not reflect the competitive game that it was. Credit has to be given to our younger members of the panel Eimear Mc Keown, Ava Collins, Tara Mc Grath, Triona Ryan and Kaitlyn O Regan. They stepped up to the mark this year and acquitted themselves so well in this minor competition where they will play for another three years. The future of camogie in Moyle Rovers is in good hands based on the full hearted and committed display given in this game by each and every girl. Final Score: From 5-9 to 1-3.
