On Sunday our junior team travelled to Cashel to compete in the county semi-final against Kickhams. Kickhams put 1-2 to on the board before we settled thanks to a great point from Sinead Kenrick. We soon had matters level after a hard won  goal from Orla Ryan and a pointed free from Eimer Ryan. Kickhams pushed out their lead once again but we stayed close thanks to further frees and a good Aine Fitzgearld point. Kickhams dealt us a hammer blow with a well taken goal just before half time to give them a two goal cushion at the break, 2-8 to 1-5. Moyle Rovers would enjoy the strong breeze for the second half and they set about reducing the deficit with great intent. A goal from Anna Carey and a point from Niamh Lonergan bought us to within two points of Kickhams. We held Kickhams scoreless for the opening twenty minutes of the half and with the game in the balance it was Kickhams who got a vital goal to spur them on for a place in the county final. Moyle Rovers tried hard to the very end but scoring accuracy deserted us and we missed some good scoring chances. Final score Kickhams 3-10 Moyle Rovers 2-6. Our team can be very proud of their performance and lost nothing in defat. They battled bravely and courageously all through the game and never gave up. This was a tough and very competitive encounter and our young team stood up the heat of championship in a very admirable manner. They showed great character all through the game and can look back with pride on a great camogie campaign that brought them to the edge of a county final.  In the end we were beaten by a good Kickhams team and we wish them all the best in the final. Our thanks, on behalf of the camogie club, to the dedicated management team of John Ryan and Karen Fitzgearld who made a huge commitment to the team throughout the year. They gave us some great games and great days out. Team Captain, Caroline Quirke, thanked them on behalf of the team after the game. Team.
