On Saturday 29th Sept, we took on Golden Kilfeacle in the County Intermediate Football Quarter Final in new Inn.

We knew we had a tough battle on our hands from the start, but our lads fought to the very end, But we very unlucky to be one point adrift at the final whistle.

Golden opened the scoring with a point from play. Luke Delahunty, Riain Quigley, Jack Lonergan scored 3 points for Rovers. In the 16th Minutes Golden scored a well worked goal to give them the lead again, but not for long, as Riain Quigley tapped over a point to put the sides level again. Golden Finished the half with 3 more points, to go in with a 3 point lead at the break. Half time score Moyle Rovers 0-4 Golden- Kilfeacle 1-4. Substitute Declan Browne opened the second half with a sneak attached on goal, leaving the Goal and the full back confused and the ball in the back of the net. Golden Kicked 34 unanswered points. A misguided sidelide kick from Golden, allowed Riain Quigley to win the ball and feed it straight to Declan Browne, who had no difficulty sending it to the back of the net, Declan quickly added a point from play to put the sides level yet again. Golden scored 2 points from play while Declan Browne replied with a point from a free. Golden Kicked another point from a free, While again Declan Browne stepped up to point from a free, to leave a single point between the sides. Unfortunately time was not on our sides and the final whistle was blown before we manage an equaliser.
