On Saturday afternoon, we play our first game in Intermediate hurling relegation against Carrick Davin’s. We needed to win this game. We started very well and controlled the game from the throw-in. Ross Mulcahy opened the scoring while Ben Owens added 2 more from play, Dara Ryan added a fourth from a placed ball. It was in the 7th minute before Davin’s opened their scoring with a point. Ben Owens scored a point from play, Davin’s replied with a point from a free. Dara Ryan pointed a 65. This eb and flow continue throughout the remainder of the first and gave us a 5 point lead at the break. Half time score Moyle Rovers 0-13 Carrick Davin’s 0-8. Ben Owens opened the second half with a goal, while Stephen Quirke and Dara Ryan added 2 more points. Davin’s replied with 2 points. Kevin Grace hit a long range shot from the middle of the field which dipped into the back of the net for goal number 2. Dara Ryan added our third goal from a tough angle, which another shot that dipped into the corner of the net. Our defence was excellent in the second half holding Davin’s to only 4 points throughout the second half. Final score Moyle Rovers 3-18 Carrick Davin’s 0-12.
