Annual David Boland Memorial U8 Blitz

Moyle Rovers GAA club was delighted to host the perpetual David Boland Blitz on the 8th September 2018.

This memorial Blitz was inaugurated in 2011 as a memorial to David Boland one of our young players who passed away in 2010.

Since its first year the under 8 tournament has been growing from strength to strength. This year we were delighted to have 11 clubs and 16 teams participating in a Cup and Shield hurling blitz. The teams took part in a round robin group stage which was followed by knockout stages to determine this year’s winners.

Our sincere congratulations to Carrick Swans who edged BoherLahan/Dualla in a thrilling cup final and also to Moyle Rovers who managed to have two teams meet in the Shield final.

The standard of hurling was fantastic and despite a wet conclusion to the afternoons matches the blitz was completed with enthusiasm, fun and skill, the core idea behind the blitz.

The Perpetual trophies were presented by Charlie Boland Father of David Boland and medals were presented to our Champions and runners up in both competitions  by Colm Canning  GAA South Tipperary Development Officer.
