South U14 "A" Hurling Final

On Monday evening last our U14 faced Carrick Swan in the South Final in Cloneen.

Rovers took Control early in the game despite Carrick Swan opening the scoring with a point. Peter McGarry tapped over
6 point , 1 from Play and 5 from Free. It was in the last 5 minutes of the Half that team mate Rory Collins added his name to the score board scoring 1-1. Carrick Swan finished the half as they begun, with a point. Half time score Moyle Rovers 1-7 Carrick Swan 0-2.
The second half was a similar affair, with Peter McGarry adding 3 more points to his tally, while Carrick Swan replied with 2 points. Oran Ryan scored another point for Moyle Rovers and with 4 minutes to play and 9points in it. Carrick scored a goal, but their hopes of a finally rally were quickly dashed as Rory Collin went up the field and added a second goal to his tally. Final Score Moyle Rovers 2-11 Carrick Swan 1-4. Well done to the boys and their Management team and best of luck in the County Semi Final.

Camogie

Our girls were in action again on Monday evening as the minors played Fethard in Monroe. Moyle Rovers got off to a good start when Aine Fitzgearld, after a great solo run, planted the ball in the back of the Fethard net. Eimer Ryan landed a free and Emma Cronin scored a good goal followed by a Louise Norris point. We led at the break by 2-2-to 1-1. The strengthening breeze favoured Fethard in the second half. Our girls battled bravely as Fethard scored a goal and four points to our single point from Makayla O’Donnell. Final score 2-5 to 2-3. Well done to all our girls who battled bravely on a damp night.

Ladies Football

The minors went to Fethard last Wednesday evening in the opening group game. They came home without the points but gave us plenty to be proud of  especially in the second half. They overturned a five point deficit at half time to just come up short by a single point. Moyle Rovers had a poor first half with just a pointed free and an Emma Cronin point from paly to show for their efforts. They came back into the game strongly in the second half. They had goals from Emma Cronin and Orla Burke and points from Michelle McMeel and Roweena Dowling (2). Fethard scored a goal from a penalty and two points to see them secure the win. Final score Fethard 2-5 Moyle Rovers 1-9.
