The club held a very enjoyable table quiz on Friday night. We also had our medal presentation to the winners of the County League in 2016 as well as a presentation to our All under 16 winner from last Year Emma Cronin. Well done to table Quiz winners Ollie & Miriam Maher Seamus Norris and Gerry Kelly. Thanks to all who organised, attended and supported. A special mention to Paddy Mcmeel who done Trojan work in ensuring the night was a great success. Well done to Tipperary Intermediates who made it seven wins from seven games when they easily accounted for Limerick in the final league game. We had Rosin McGrath and Niamh Lonergan in action for Tipperary with both girls getting on the scoreboard. We are extremely pleased for Niamh who has overcome significant injuries to be back playing at the highest level in Tipperary. It is a testament to her great determination and courage to be back playing at this level. Congratulations to Edmund Burke and his management team who guided Tipperary under 16s to a Munster final against Cork following their fine win over Kerry in Tralee. Ed manages both the Tipperary under 14s and Under 16 who are in the A competition this year. Both teams have recorded ground breaking victories in their respective competitions.
Camogie.
The juniors had an easy win over St Mary’s in Monroe on Sunday morning. Our girls began the game in great earnest and it was not long before their efforts were manifested on the scoreboard. The scores came quickly and in great abundance. At half time we had a comfortable lead. St.Mary’s upped their game in the second half but they had left themselves too much to do. We ran out well deserved winners. Team. Caroline Quirke (1-0), Amy Norris, Ellen Buckley, Shania Dowling, Louise Norris(0-2), Emma Cronin, ,Aine Fitzgearld (1-1), Jenny Everard (1-2),Eimer Ryan(2-2) , Sophie Delaney(2-0),.Roweena Dowling (2-1) ,Sinead Kenrick (2-0).On Saturday April 1st the U16 team took on Cahir at home. The heavens opened just as the starting whistle sounded but the girls showed their grit and within 15 mins Moyle Rovers were three goals up thanks to scores from Grainne O'Donnell and Sorcha O'Brien. Cahir scored a point and a goal to leave the half time score 3-0 to 1-2. Cahir came out in the second half looking for the win. Kaitlyn O'Regan played her part and stopped many of the attacks on goal line. However two goals slipped in under the top post for Cahir and it gave them a two points win. The U16 girls should be very proud of the way they played it was a fantastic team effort. It was a very physical game and our girls stood up the challenge very well. They play again on Monday night April 3rd against Fethard, throw in 6.45. The u12s started back to training on Friday night it was great to see everyone back and some new players which we can add to our squads.
